Not What I Had Expected

Hello Friends. This year has not started as I had expected or been determined for it to go as I stated in my past post. So, with this post, I thought I should fill you in on things. This is probably the hardest post I have written to date. Or the hardest thing I have written, ever.

To start, on January 12th my other half sustained an injury in which he basically "broke" both of his legs. Let me clarify a little better: He has a torn ACL, MCL and Minicus in BOTH LEGS/KNEES as well as Tibial Plateau Fractures in BOTH . Yes, BOTH legs. Yea, that happened. To say the least I have been busy... very busy.

8 Days later on January 20th, My Father passed away at the young age of 52 after 8 months of fighting pneumonia, infection and a right side brain stroke. That to date has been the hardest days of my life. I watched him struggle through so much pain and the suffering of not being able to speak what he wanted to say or do things he used to do with no problems. I am however, thankful that he was able to meet my children, walk me down the isle and see me grow into the woman I have become.  He is no longer in pain and now has a new fabulous body and I know that one day I will see him again. I "see" and "hear" him every day in one way or another. He will always be with me. It is hard but I take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain.

The year has not started the way I had intended by far. But I am sure there is greater purpose for these things. After all, "They" say things happen for a reason. I am just waiting to see what that reason is. It was a very rough year in 2013. It did not end the way I wanted. maybe this start of 2014 is to put things into perspective for the years to come. I just hope I figure it out soon because at this point things are very hard to understand.

I do have things in store for this blog. I am determined to do what I set out to do with that first post and I will be catching up on my 52 week challenge. So stick with me while I get through these rough times and come back to see what I come up with for the challenge and the updates I post as we go through this year.
